Inca Trail Marathon, Machu Picchu

One of the largest empires in the 16th century and the largest in the Pre- Columbian America, the Inca Empire now stands in ruins yet manages to inspire awe. Throw the incredible view of the Andes and the spectacular lost city of Machu Picchu in the mix and you have one of the most beautiful marathons in the world. Running along the cobblestone streets, massive walls and Inca fortresses, the trail ahead twisting to give you a glimpse of the glorious Peruvian Andes and finishing at the citadel of Machu Picchu is an experience every avid runner craves for. The hundreds of feet of elevation and drop along the way makes it a hard run to complete.
