Farewell

Spread the love

There stood the mighty ship,

Floating in the bay.

A young child staring at it
Holding his father’s hand.
He was sad and very lost
To his dad he had nothing to say.
As the sun started setting and the ship fuming,
It was time for him to leave the land.
“Father?”, asked the boy
“When will I see you again?”
“Soon my son, I promise you that.”
But oblivious to the fact his son was.
The battle his father took was hard and of little gain.
Months away from his love was all he had
His memory was all he carried with his hat.
And the long goodbye ended,
He hugged his son one last time.
He watched his father go
As the ship sailed out of his sight.
