Ever dreamed of living in a beautiful city like Italy and owning a house there?
Well, now you can own a house in Italy that too in less than €1! No kidding.
Ollolai is a beautiful town in the mountain region of Barbagia on the island of Sardinia, where Ollolai’s mayor, Efisio Arbau, has decided to sell 200 abandoned stone dwellings for just 90 pence.
Apparently, the population of the town has drastically reduced from 2,250 to 1,300 with few babies born each year, leaving some of the houses in an extremely poor condition.
All buyers must commit to restoring each dwelling, which is in a poor condition, within three years at an estimated cost of up to €30,000 (£26,000).
They can sell their home after five years if they wish.
The scheme has been launched by the mayor to stop the town from becoming a ghost town. The mayor is confident that people will be interested in buying the houses because of the irresistible beauty of the town.
