Poem: Rebirth

Don’t distrust that your wings will give you flight.
You have second guessed yourself night after night.
The war within yourself has been your biggest fight.
You struggle daily to see yourself in a positive light.

But nobody doubts you more than yourself.
Nobody is more concerned about your mental health.
You are your only ally, breath after forced breath,
carrying through to the last hour before death.

So I plead that you find the light from within.
And stop dwelling on what has been.
Once you can shed your pernicious skin,
then you know your life will begin.
