Who was Socrates?

Socrates (469BC – 399 BC) was Greek philosopher, born in Athens, Greece. His father Sophroniscus was a sculptor and mother Phaenarete was midwife.
He was not from a rich family so he received basic Greek education, as a youth he showed affection on learning music, gymnastic and grammar.
He worked as a sculptor and did some stone sculpting beyond that Socrates was a fearless and skilled soldier who saved the life of the General Alcibiades.
