Puukko is a Finnish belt knife that has a flat back and a curved cutting edge. The length of the blade is usually the same as the width of a palm and the material of the handle is birch. The men of Finland put great pride in carving their puukkos handle. In the Nordic countries, it is used as an everyday knife to hunt, fish and for the garden work. Receiving a good puukko as a gift is considered to be an honor in Finland.
